German sound reinforcement specialist TW AUDiO has announced that the recent KoSound exhibition in Seoul, Korea, saw it take orders for more than 200 pieces of its new flagship Vera 36 line array alongside the Vera S33 subwoofer. The order followed the system’s debut in Korea in conjunction with the manufacturer’s exclusive distributor Star Networks.
Two companies – Tri Star Audio and Monkey Sound – are reported to have participated in the order, while TW AUDiO managing director Bernhard Wuestner has commented that the deal represents both ‘rental companies and big ongoing installation projects’ adopting the Vera 36 system.
Each Vera 36 line array element comprises two 10-inch and two 8-inch woofers plus two 1.4-inch LF sections, while the accompanying cardioid Vera S33 subwoofer boasts an 18-inch at the front and a 15-inch chassis at its rear.
‘To be honest we were very surprised,’ enthused Mr Wuestner. ‘It’s amazing and of course we are more than pleased. It shows us how important the Korean market is and that you have to understand the requirements of the Korean people – they have very high expectations of sound quality. It’s a trend globally to produce smaller and smaller speakers, lighter and easier to set-up, and that’s the key for the future. I think we’re going the right way.’
TW AUDiO - BOOMING IN ASIA
"Asia Times - Tadao and million lectures in 2012" was held on the Expo area at the Mercedes Benz Cultural Center. The lecture was one of a series of cultural exchange activities in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Sino-Japanese diplomacy. Yao Ming and Wang Shi, invited as honored guests, exchanged successful experiences with Tadao Ando, the Japanese architect.
Shanghai Bo Shun Company provided the TW AUDiO sound system. When we consider speech reinforcement in large-volume venues with a long reverberation, any sound reinforcement system is a huge challenge.

TW AUDiO - THE RACE OF CHAMPIONS
The Race of Champions in the Düsseldorf Esprit Arena, with 34,000 spectators, was organised this time by Multisound using TW AUDiO systems. Vettel, Schuhmacher & Co delivered exciting races over the two days, culminating in an after-show party to wind things up.
The prime concern was getting the sound right in the arena, and that was done with an acoustic simulation using EASE Focus. To take account of the long echo time and so to optimise voice and music, a total of ten ground stacks each with four VERA10 line array elements and two S30 basses were used on the straights, while sound in the curves was achieved with a total of eight ground stacks each with one T24 and two S30 basses.
The whole system was driven and monitored using 24 Powersoft K3DSP AESOP amps and the associated ARMONIA software.
To achieve the highest level of audio quality possible, a 450 m long redundant CAT5 network ring was used, making it possible not only to control and monitor the Powersoft K3DSPs, but also transmitting 4 digital AES-EBU audio signals in parallel as well from the control desk to the power amplifiers.
The SmaartV7 measurement system meant that the complete TW AUDiO sound system could be optimised for the Esprit Arena and adjusted to it's existing sound system for the upper rows within an extremely tight time window.
TECNARE - SILVER MEDAL SOUND SYSTEM
TECNARE’s installation in FABRIK (Madrid) has been rated as the second best night club disco installation in the world (according to D.J. Mag).
FABRIK houses a huge 85.000 watts high performance TECNARE active DSP controlled PCC system.
The sound system includes twelve of the famous LA-312 symmetrical horn loaded line array cabinets, SW215 subs and L2122VLT horn loaded tops.
World famous D.J.’s like DAVID GUETTA, CARL COX, TIESTO, ARMIN VAN BUUREN, BOB SINCLAIR, 2MANYDJs, and many more are feeling right at home behind the TECNARE system.
We have a sixteen piece LA-312 system exact like the one in FABRIK for sale right now (even a little bigger than the one used in FABRIK), I really doubt there is a discotheque in Belgium big enough to house a system like this.

The second venue to open in the Bobby Mazzo chain of bars has opted for a TW AUDiO sound system supplied by the manufacturer’s Chinese distributor, Rui Sheng Audio & Lighting Equipments Co Ltd. TW AUDiO loudspeakers were reportedly selected following demonstrations by the distributors of several international loudspeaker brands, all taking place in the original Bobby Mazzo bar.
According to Bobby Mazzo owner Mr Ma, a key reason for the decision to opt for TW AUDiO was help the new venue ‘stand out from all of my competitors’. Mr Ma also praised the brand as a ‘rising star’ with a ‘sound that moves me’.
Among the most important criteria for the installation was that the loudspeakers should be discreet, specifically not obstructing views of the giant LED screen which has been placed behind the DJ platform. Nevertheless, high SPL was still required to create the correct ambience within the bar. Solving the problem is a substantial installation comprising a broad range of TW AUDiO enclosures. Two T24 horn-loaded tops have been suspended to the left and right of the LED screen. Adding low-end, meanwhile, are four B30 subwoofers which have been concealed beneath the platform itself. Additionally, two BSX subs are positioned to the left and right of the DJ with eight M12 cabinets providing full range performance across the dance-floor and seating area.
Elsewhere the venue’s seated booths and lobby are served by eighteen M15 full range enclosures supported by fourteen B30 subwoofers, all of which have been carefully located so as not to compromise the bar’s aesthetics. The system is powered by twelve Powersoft K3 DSP AESOP amplifiers which are controlled and monitored by Armonia Pro Audio Suite remote software.
Finally, the venue includes 10 KTV rooms, each of which are equipped with two M8 cabinets, two M6 enclosures and two B15 subwoofers for low end.
‘This kind of system is normally used in theatres and arenas that require large-scale sound systems,’ Mr Fan explained. ‘But I think it is also necessary for a large bar like Bobby Mazzo. There are several areas and each has different requirements. Plus the sound system needs to work for more than eight hours per day, so we have to keep a close eye on’
